The New Man

Picture
The New Man is much different from the traditional Strong Man. Affected by the feminist movement, the New Man is less brawn and more brain--more emotional sensitivity, less stoicism. The New Man is allowed to be interested in traditionally feminine activities and spheres, such as cooking, fashion, the arts, and so on. The New Man also has a greater role in the family. Instead of simply providing capital for the family, so that shelter, food, and luxuries can be obtained, the New Man is willing to share the duty of providing with his wife and take a larger role in the caring of children and the maintenance of the household.

The Evolving Man

This article is the same as the page before, but it is also posted here because of its description of the end product of the historical processes pertinent to the previous page. According to this article, this new man has shifted completely away from the traditional model by stressing equality between male and female.

Rise of the Meterosexual

This article describes a new sort of man that has some traditional female characteristics, such as concern with fashion and appearance, that would usually make a man seem homosexual. But no longer is that the case. The macho man vision is no longer the only acceptable model for masculinity, as seen by the emergence of meterosexualism. The article provides description of this model.
